2012 RECAP
September
Our Tadpoles have been adjusting to their new class by developing friendships new/old. We have been working on building trust and independence during circle time, independent work , and other activities during our day. Once this very important step was established learning becomes fun and engaging. We learn our concepts through our daily routine, unit lessons, and independent work. To reinforce the letters of the alphabet and encourage word building our Tadpoles are introduced to a food or object which begin with the letter of the week. We are always counting. Tadpoles count everything during our lessons/work time.

Language Arts Looking at bears!
The Tadpoles went on an adventure. We discovered the The Black Bear. The foods the Black Bear loves to eat. We identified the parts of the body and the activities the Black Bear loves to do especially hibernation.

Ethiopia- Wattle Ibis was introduced to the Tadpoles. The Tadpoles enjoyed making the sound the Wattled Ibis makes especially in the early morning. We had a great time putting together a birds nest consisting of tree bark, grass stems, and two eggs.

Ethiopia’s Key Export- Coffee
We learned about the coffee farmers. We enjoyed smelling, feeling, and transferring the coffee beans.
Science
Ethiopia is well known for their key export- coffee. The Tadpoles displayed the coffee beans and pictures of the coffee farmers. The Ethiopian Flag was proudly displayed on the wall.

During Healthy Teeth Month our Tadpoles brought from home their very own personal toothbrush.

We learned the different names of our teeth.
