Lango Brooklyn is part of Lango Kids, a company built on the belief that every American child should learn a second language. Since coming to New York in 2007, we have taught classes and summer camps to hundreds of kids throughout Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan. Our partner schools include Brooklyn Friends, International School of Brooklyn, PS29, Greene Hill SchoolDillon Child Study Center, and more. To learn more about us, please visit www.langokids.com.

Our classes teach children a new language in an immersion-based setting using songs, stories, games, dance — even yoga to engage children in their new language. Fun and play form the foundation for our preschoolers foreign language classes. Within two or three classes, kids ages 3-5 learn key phrases in their new language through simple, repeated songs and chants. Meanwhile, they become familiar with more complex aspects of the language by engaging in “adventures,” tactile and movement-based games that require them to solve simple problems – in their new language, of course! These adventures, starring the Lango Kids, our multicultural cast of characters, take students to other lands and cultures to ensure that their language instruction is combined with cultural exposure.

All Lango classes are led by native speakers with extensive experience in teaching and working young children. We provide continuous trainings throughout the year to ensure that all of our teachers are up-to-date about the latest curriculum and techniques.

At the end of each class, students will receive a review sheet that records all the key words and phrases taught in that class. Should parents wish for more at home reinforcement, Lango CD and storybooks are also available for purchase.

Best regards,

Bei Yi Lin

SHM Library fundraiser With Greg Porter!

Thank you SHM family for all your wonderful support of yesterday's fundraiser.  We had a wonderful time with Greg Porter and his band and Weeksville turned out to be a perfect venue for our event.  It was so nice to see the children having such a great time exploring the grounds and playing with their school mates.  We are awaiting donations/ticket money from some and will have a final revenue number to report shortly.  Please feel free to drop your donations at the SHM office.

Thanks all!
